  • Native American Events Committee
  • The mission of the Native American Events Committee (NAEC) is to inform and educate the campus and surrounding community about the different Native cultures and to provide awareness of issues and concerns affecting Indian country. The Native American Events Committee sponsors the Annual Veteran’s Day Weekend Traditional Pow Wow the second Saturday of November as well as a March Music and Marketplace event.
  • MLK March on West
  • We always do more than celebrate a legacy on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We actively live the dream and rededicate ourselves as a campus and community. We gather and remember. We offer service and make plans. We speak up and we speak out. We appreciate the re-enactment of the “I Have a Dream” speech that is shared with hundreds of middle school students. We offer testimony that a man, a legacy and a movement live in the hearts and souls of this community
  • Black History Month
  • Black History Month is celebrated during the month of February. Signature events include an opening reception and the Pioneer Award. Additional activities aim to educate University and Community members through programs that recognize the contributions of African Americans.
