Ways to Support
maroon line

West campus graduates Like all universities, public or private, ASU depends heavily on support from the private sector to advance and achieve excellence. Public Affairs manages a variety of fundraising programs to support and advance the university's mission and short and long-range goals. These include the Annual Fund, through which alumni are encouraged to provide support for their academic college or the president's academic enrichment fund; major gifts and endowments, which play a significant role in supporting scholarships, academic programs, faculty positions, research, and facilities; planned giving, which provides ways for individuals to make significant contributions to the university through deferred gifts; the Provost's Club, which supports the initiatives of the provost as well as scholarship funds; and other special events, which support student scholarships and honor community members.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund at Arizona State University provides an opportunity for alumni and friends to build a legacy of excellence for our students, our community and our nation.

Annual fund gifts provide crucial resources for scholarships, special projects and capital needs for individual colleges and units on the campus. Through our direct mail and Sundial telemarketing programs, ASU's friends are invited to join a dynamic and exciting community of donors helping to build a tradition of excellence and vision.

To contribute to the annual fund please complete the online giving form or call (602) 543-5212.

Major Gifts and Endowments

Gifts from our loyal alumni and friends fund scholarships and fellowships for talented students, as well as chairs and professorships for gifted faculty. They provide investment dollars needed for new research programs. They fund bricks and mortar projects and help launch new initiatives. Your gift will help benefit ASU through:

Departmental and College Scholarships offered by the College of Human Services, the College of Teacher Education and Leadership, the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, and the School of Global Management and Leadership.

To designate a gift to a college or school, please complete the online giving form (specifying ASU's West campus and the college or department of your choice) or call (602) 543-5212.

Private Donor Scholarships based on the criteria established by the donor of the scholarship fund. The dollar value of these scholarships varies, as do the requirements for selection.

Endowed Chairs, such as the Bob Stump Endowed Chair in Cultural History, which will support research, travel and scholarly activity of the faculty member in this position.

"The Bob Stump Endowed Chair will enable the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences to recruit a prominent historian of America's regional cultures. Such an individual will bring focus and breadth to the regional history projects already underway at ASU's West campus and fulfill its distinction as a nationally recognized center for the study of American regional history – the customs, beliefs and ideas of the people who have lived in this region throughout the ages."
Emily Fourmy Cutrer
Dean, New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences

To support the endowment honoring Bob Stump's legacy of leadership and service to the Valley, Arizona, and the United States, please call (602) 543-5212.

Planned Giving Opportunities

West campus student The Office of Planned Giving at the ASU Foundation helps donors fulfill their personal financial goals while simultaneously creating charitable gift plans that benefit ASU. Besides ensuring ASU's continued position as one of the nation's leading research universities, a properly planned gift may:

  • provide an income for life
  • reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes
  • generate a current income tax deduction
  • reduce or eliminate gift and estate taxes
  • leave a lasting legacy for generations to come
  • provide a much larger gift to ASU than was ever thought possible

For information about the types of planned gifts available, please visit the Gift Planning website.

If you haven't decided what area or program in the University will benefit from your generosity, please contact a member of the Office of Planned Giving who can help create a distinctive gift that blends your vision with the objectives of Arizona State University: 480-965-5338 (or 1-800-979-5225) or plannedgiving@asu.edu.

Provost's Club

The Provost's Club helps fulfill the campus's promise to serve as an educational, economic, cultural, and social catalyst for all communities served by the West campus and particularly the West Valley. Individual and corporate Provost's Club members provide annual gifts of $1500 in support of financial aid efforts, professional expertise, and advocacy, helping ASU ensure a quality education for our students.

Your leadership as a Provost's Club member will make a discernible difference in the lives of our students, faculty, staff, and the community we serve. The rewards of membership include enjoyable networking opportunities, exciting social events, and, most important, the opportunity to help our students realize their personal and professional goals.

Members are a Resource

Students in computer classroom

The Provost's Club is a significant resource for ASU's West campus. Members provide occasional counsel and support to the university and the community it serves. Such interchange provides the Provost with ideas from the private sector on questions of vital importance to higher education. Annual contributions support departmental programs, attract outstanding faculty, provide scholarships, which enrich the campus and its many programs.

Consider a membership in the Provost's Club to support academic priorities and scholarships for outstanding students enrolled at the West campus with an annual contribution of $1500. For information regarding membership call Janelle Ramos, Development Officer at 602-543-5317
