"March on West" kicks off Martin Luther King Jr. events at ASU's West campus

Jan. 12, 2005

A Valley tradition continues Jan. 19 as more than 500 local elementary school children gather at ASU's West campus to reenact a civil rights march and hear Charles St. Clair's rendition of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. St. Clair, a faculty member in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, has presented the historic speech annually since 1991.

The "March on West" event, Wednesday, Jan. 19, beginning at 10 a.m., is one of three public events commemorating the Martin Luther King Jr. legacy and civil rights week at ASU's West campus, Jan. 19-22.

These events at ASU's West campus give the community the chance to commemorate the legacy of Dr. King and the civil rights movement and to celebrate the diversity embodied on the ASU West campus.

International Food Fair: Jan. 20
