School of Global Management and Leadership at ASU's West campus offers innovative graduate evening program
ASU's School
of Global Management and Leadership has introduced an innovative management training
component called Leadership in Residency to its MBA program. This hands-on approach
includes projects with community-based partnerships, global awareness activities,
360-degree feedback assessment and other skill developing activities.
“It's the real-life focus students need to build their unique MBA skills,” said Mohan Gopalakrishnan, professor of operations management and director of the MBA program at ASU's School of Global Management and Leadership.
The Leadership MBA program, designed especially for busy professionals, is a flexible, evening program offered exclusively at ASU's West campus. ASU's School of Global Management and Leadership allows students to enter the MBA program in fall, spring or summer semesters. Students can complete the program in approximately two years of full-time study or from three to six years of part-time study.
Information sessions for prospective students are being held at ASU's West campus, 4701 W. Thunderbird Rd., Phoenix, on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. Applications now are being accepted for classes starting Jan. 18, 2005.
“The challenges of a dynamic workplace have increased the demand for technical and interpersonal skills,” Gopalakrishnan said. “This new training component is unique in its focus aimed at coupling state-of-the-art knowledge with hands-on experience to directly meet the needs of the business world.”
For example, the new program will allow students to participate in off-site crisis management simulations followed by intense team and management analysis.
The ASU faculty includes nationally recognized scholars in accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and supply chain. They actively combine research, teaching and consulting to provide an environment that enhances the professional development of students.
