Hy Grant spent the majority of his gestational period in the country of Costa Rica. There we bought him his first toy, a large pawn made out of a beautiful dark brown wood.

While some children sleep with teddy bears or stuffed rabbit, Hy slept with his wooden pawn, cuddled lovingly to his precious face.

Hy Grant was playing chess at a young age and entered his first tournament when he was only four years old.
