Mitchell Bartholomew
My name is Mitchell Bartholomew and I am from Glendale, Arizona. I am a senior majoring in Psychology with interest in the field of Clinical Psychology where I plan to attend graduate school to obtain a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. As a Rodel Community Scholar I have collaborated with Dr. Hickman and Jennifer Mathwig on a high school dropout trajectory study that compared high school graduates and dropouts across many variables in hopes of shedding some light on the diverse factors contributing to student dropout. Currently, I am working on an attentional bias study which will examine the physiological attentional biases or shift of high school students toward school related words. We theorize that dropout students will exhibit a stronger attentional bias or shift toward school related words, as these words are more threatening/stress-inducing to dropouts than graduates.
